ANRAP Training Workshop
ANRAP is organizing workshop on chemical studies of antidiabetic plant materials and bioassay on rodent models of diabetes on a regular basis since 2010. The main objectives of this workshop is to give hands-on-training on handling of laboratory animals, development of diabetic model rats as well as their use for evaluating plant materials for antidiabetic properties.
Besides the participants take part in extractions fractionation and use of thin layer chromatography for identifying chemical compounds, and finally using column chromatography high performance liquid Chromatography for separation pure compounds. A great response was found from different Public and Private Universities, Institutions, Pharmaceutical companies and the traditional practitioners in the 1st workshop that was done in 2010. Since then, this workshop on chemical studies of antidiabetic plant materials and bioassay is being conducted every year. As it is depicted in the following table number of participants joining the workshop is increasing. So far ANRAP has given hands-on-training to 123 participants
